This is a fantastic little guesthouse/B&B located close to the village of Llanwern and about 10 minutes from Newport and only a little over 5 mins from the M4. The rooms are large, modern and clean and the bathrooms are immaculate. This is a real gem of a place. Noel offers her guest fantastic breakfasts. I've stayed there now 4 or 5 times, and every time it is superb. A definite 10 out of 10 for Hazel Court. It's terrific.
I have stayed at Hazel Court many a time, always on business. Noelle would have to be the friendliest and most welcoming B&B owner I have ever met. Her rooms are always impeccable, the breakfast and always a treat. Just down the road is the Milton Hotel, where food is generally quite good. A recent change in owner means a fresh review will be needed. Whether you are on holidays, single, a couple or with family, Noelle will always make you welcome. Sadly only 5 stars on this review, but Noelle definitely deserves a sixth!! Sadly, this little B&B has now closed business. It will be a great loss to visitors like me, but after many years of missing out on her grandchildren, Noelle certainly deserved her retirement. Good luck Noelle, and may you have a very happy and rewarding retirement.
We selected this guest house after reading the wonderful reviews. You MUST stay at the beautiful Hazel Court. The bedroom was really spacious and lovely, and the bathroom spotless. The shower was really powerful and hot. The bedroom looked out over a gorgeous garden and enclosed patio, which would be just right for a glass of cold white wine on a nice day. Fresh milk was available for the tea and coffee tray. The full Welsh breakfast was freshly cooked just to our liking and the large selection included home made fruit cake, which although we couldn't manage to eat any more, Noelle insisted we take a slice each for later wrapped in foil. It was just as good as it looked. We have stayed in a great many guest houses and hotels over the years and this was by far the best with such a friendly and warm welcome from Noelle. She directed us to a lovely pub in the village which was just 10 minutes walk away. The food was excellent. The whole experience was wonderful and without doubt we will return. YOU MUST STAY HERE AND SEE FOR YOURSELF HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS PLACE IS! For any golfers, the Celtic Manor Golf Resort, home of the 2010 Ryder Cup, is less than 10 minutes drive away. This is a perfect location for a great round of golf and vacation. From one Noelle to another, thank you.
